What's Involved?
Residential Support Workers assist and enable service users to dress, undress, wash, use the toilet and bathe. They serve meals to service users at table or in bed, and assist with feeding if required. They generally assist with service users’ overall comfort and well being. They also provide interest and activities to stimulate and engage the service user. They help with daily activities such as letter writing, paying bills, collecting benefits. They also undertake light cleaning and domestic duties including meal preparation as required. They monitor service users’ conditions by taking temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and contribute to record keeping. They liaise with professional staff in carrying out care plans etc.
